  • Responsibilities

    OVERVIEW:

    The Operations Coordinator will be involved in all the pre, during, and post operational components to ensure a high-quality experience for the players, coaches, and parents from each team.  The Operations Coordinator will supervise seasonal employees and interns to make sure all operational components are up to the Ripken Baseball standard. 

    Required Skills

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assist with organizing and implementing baseball programming.
    • Assist with creation of program budgets and work to stay within these budgets.
    • Maintain an accurate and organized inventory of items used by the Operations team.
    • Assist with the overall operation of The Ripken Experience Myrtle Beach Tournaments which includes a variety of pre, during, and post tournament operational elements.
    • Serve as Tournament Director for several tournaments throughout the season.
    • Build relationships with parents, coaches, staff, vendors, and partners handling any customer services issues with professionalism.
    • Provide a positive example for all participants in each program on safety, professionalism, and adherence to the Ripken Way.
    • Other duties as assigned.

     

    Required Experience

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in sports-related field such as Sports Marketing, Management, or Business
    • Willingness and ability to work long hours, weekends, and some holidays based on business needs
    • 1-2 years’ experience working in a sports related industry
    • Experience evaluating players to determine ways they can improve their skills
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Positive approach to learning
    • Strong work ethic
    • Good planning, directing, and organizational skills
    • Excellent customer service orientation to respond to needs of parents and campers
    • Passion for the game of baseball/softball with sound knowledge of the game and ability to teach and coach others
    • Ability to work in a team environment
    • Experience working with children demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding
    • Ability to supervise others

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Personal knowledge of what a baseball/softball tournament experience 
    • Demonstrated track record of working with young people
    • Graduate degree in a sports related field

     

    WORKING CONDITIONS/SPECIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Routinely required to work extended hours of time
    • Physical ability to accomplish all tasks
    • Routinely lift or move up to 50 pounds at least 20% of the time
    • Routinely exposed to extreme hot/cold weather conditions, and dust/particles
