    The Role:

    Under the supervision of the Director, Operations in La Vergne, Tennessee, the Plant Controller is an integral part of the plant management team and a vital member of the corporate Finance team. This position requires direct involvement in both plant operations and corporate finance activities and initiatives, as required.

    The Controller will be responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial and operational management information to be used in reporting financial results and managing the facility.

    Additionally, the Controller will be tasked with completing month-end closing per corporate requirements, ensuring compliance with corporate needs, and preparing forecasts and budgets in close partnership with the plant manager.

    This position is located in LaVergne, Tennessee.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide financial support to our Plant Manager(s) and provide insights regarding local operations.
    • Analyze location profitability and review operating metrics highlighting essential trends.
    • Reviews account reconciliations prepared by others.
    • Assist in the leadership of local physical inventory processes and procedures.
    • Performs various projects and analyses as required.
    • Manages forecasting and budgeting activities for the plant and provides analysis of differences.
    • Organize & support efforts to reduce unfavorable variances and target cost reduction.
    • Provide additional insight to operations on metrics such as scrap, cost of quality, labor, inventory fluctuations, and obsolescence.
    • Oversees cost accountant and participates in plant costing activities as needed.
    • Responsible for the completion of local payroll and payroll spend analysis.
    • Reconcile all inventory and ensure the accuracy of inventory records.
    • Manage and obtain local approval for all requests on capital expenditures.
    • Maintain local fixed assets tracking and tagging.
    • Creates and maintains account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial statements.
    • Assists in the yearly audit preparation and completion.

    Required Skills

    Required Experience

    • At least 7+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting is required.
    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
    • Previous working experience with JD Edwards business system or relevant experience with a similar tool and integrated business systems is required.
    • Previous working experience as Plant Controller in a manufacturing environment is a plus, not required.
    • Previous working experience with manufacturing processes such as labor reporting, standard costing, overhead allocations, and routing Bill of Materials.
    • Experience with partnering with multi-site locations, including foreign cross-functional teams.
  • Qualifications

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    AS A TOURNAMENT OPERATIONS SUMMER INTERN, YOU WILL:

    • Work directly under the Event Coordinator in assisting him/her with rosters, welcome packets, and paperwork before each tournament
    • Serve as a tournament official, maintaining a working knowledge of rules and procedures, announcing games and operating scoreboards
    • Serve as a customer service representative to the coaches. Answer questions as they pertain to their tournament
    • Work directly with front office personnel in order to successfully execute all tournaments
    • Assist with team registration, opening ceremonies, and skills competitions each Sunday
    • Perform basic grounds crew duties such as field work and filling water coolers
    • Execute basic cleaning duties which include but are not limited to; sweeping, mopping, cleaning & stocking restrooms, cleaning windows and picking up trash
    • Assist Concessions and Retail Managers with inventory, customer payments, and possibly grill duties
    • Convey and maintain a high level of professionalism at all times while providing extraordinary external and internal customer service
    • Absorb training and demonstrate the initiative, desire, and drive to help uphold the values established by the Ripken name and brand
    • Work with staff to achieve objectives effectively and efficiently while providing a once-in-a-lifetime experience for participants
