    The Role:

    Reporting to the Director of Operations at our Ogden, UT location, our Environmental Health & Safety Manager is tasked with the implementation of operational excellence in our Environment, Health, Safety & Sustainability (EHSS) Programs at Chromalox.

    As the Manager of EHSS, you will support our local Operations teams with the implementation of industry-standard compliance and regulations while managing a team of two Analysts. You will be accountable for tracking site metrics while interpreting, analyzing, and communicating the EHSS metrics to the broader organization. Additionally, you will be tasked with administering location-wide training regarding compliance and regulatory changes.

    This position is located in Ogden, Utah.

    Responsibilities:

    • Installs fittings on object to seal outlets and connects object to high-pressure air or water line.
    • Activates air compressor or water pump until gauge registers specified internal pressure.
    • Observes gauge for loss of pressure indicative of leaks, and examines object for escaping air or water to detect leaks.
    • Completes a Meg test before immersion and during 3 minute cycle.
    • Marks object at source of leaks for subsequent repair.
    • May apply soap solution to surface of object or immerse object to facilitate location of air leaks.
    • May test object under high pressure to ensure compliance with product safety ratings. Pressures over 3,000PSI require advanced safety precautions and process controls.
    • Requires understanding of and compliance with employer performance tests or standard tests to meet certification standards of governmental agencies or professional and technical associations.
    • Uses ASME code, processes and procedures to complete testing; completes visual Weld and Braze inspection.
    • Performs routine preventative maintenance on machines as scheduled and required for TPM.
    • Works individually and as a team to develop and implement quality and efficiency improvements.
    • Conducts tests and inspections of products, or processes to evaluate quality or performance; examines products or work to verify conformance to specifications.

    Required Skills

    Required Experience

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); with one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with production processes, machines and/or tools.
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, proportions and decimals and complex shop mathematics. Ability and understanding of various measuring devices in meeting drawing dimensions and specifications.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, work orders, work instructions, diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
    • Work requires continual attention to detail in follow through, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    As a Baseball Operations Intern, you will:

    • Assist with the execution of all programming at a world-class facility
    • Join a multi-week national youth baseball tour, teaching kids ages 6-13 the fundamentals of baseball, the Ripken Way
    • Learn 'The Ripken Way' how to operate the best baseball camps/clinics in the nation, from those who have created and implemented the standards and practices
    • Create a fun, dynamic atmosphere for clinic participants, developing camaraderie and acting as a positive role model
    • Uphold the values and brand standards established by the Ripken family
    • Operate sport-specific instructional stations, including hitting, pitching, and fielding
    • Gain knowledge of and training in management, coaching, and working independently when assisting with camp operations
    • Aid in setting up and breaking down baseball equipment at the start or end of each day as needed
    • Assist partner brand and agency representatives in setting up and breaking down event production equipment and promotional items
    • Serve as a Tournament Official – PA Announcing games, serving as a rules consultant, and providing customer service to our guests at a designated field.
    • Maintain a high level of professionalism while providing extraordinary customer service
    • Be considered to work other Ripken Baseball events at the conclusion of the tour, based on performance
    • Absorb training and demonstrate the initiative, desire, and drive to help uphold the values established by the Ripken name and brand.
    • Work with staff to achieve objectives effectively and efficiently while providing a once-in-a-lifetime experience for participants
