    Job Description

    Red Wing Shoe Company is excited to announce our 2024 Internship Program! The program is designed to offer you meaningful work that will prepare you for your career. You’ll get to see first-hand how our corporate teams develop strategies and practices that support our retail and manufacturing partners, and customers worldwide.

    This position will be fully on-site, requiring you to live within a commutable distance to Red Wing, MN. Standard hours for the internship will be Monday-Friday 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-1pm.

    Compensation is $20/hour.

    What to Expect as a Quality Intern:

    What you will do:

    • Document and establish product expectations, contributing to the foundation of the Quality Team's core initiatives.
    • Play a key role in establishing the baseline Cost of Quality for the business unit, aiding in strategic decision-making.
    • Utilize advanced technology and software to document procedures, collect process data, and enhance productivity for various quality tasks.
    • Support the Quality department by augmenting the current team, actively contributing to ongoing projects related to product expectations and cost analysis.
    • Contribute significantly to laying a strong foundation for the Quality Team through 2024, addressing essential aspects of quality management.

    • Gain confidence by successfully completing and implementing projects, translating theoretical knowledge into practical, real-world applications.

    In addition to the projects you’ll be assigned within your department, the 2024 intern cohort will work together on solving a real world challenge we’re facing at Red Wing Shoe Company. Over the course of the summer, you’ll meet for a few hours each week with your cohort to gather insights, conduct research, and form a recommendation which will be presented to our leadership team at the conclusion of the program.

    Qualifications

    We’re looking for students who meet the following requirements:

    • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Supply Chain Systems, Chemical preferred)
    • Enrolling as a Junior or Senior in the 2024-2025 academic year
    • Strong experience within MS Excel, Office 365 Suite, Sharepoint
    • Completed classes in quality management, six-sigma, process engineering or prior internship experience within a manufacturing setting is preferred
