    Job Description

    Red Wing Shoe Company is excited to announce our 2023 Internship Program! The program is designed to offer you meaningful work that will prepare you for your career. You’ll get to see first-hand how our corporate teams develop strategies and practices that support our retail and manufacturing partners, and customers worldwide.

    This position will be on-site.  Standard work hours for this position are Tuesday-Thursday 8:00am-4:30pm. 

    Compensation is $20/hour.

    WHAT TO EXPECT AS AN EHS INTERN:

    What you will do:

    • Review core EHS training content in the Company’s e-learning platform for applicability to the organization and make recommendations on business unit training matrices
    • Work with the Environmental Manager on monthly air permit emissions calculations
    • Take part in the roll-out of a comprehensive site level risk assessment process, including data collection and documentation reviews
    • Perform root cause analysis, enter EHS data (i.e. near miss reports) and conduct analysis on injury types, contributing factors, etc.

    What you will gain:

    • Direct experience creating environmental reports for submission to the state
    • Experience in assessing training needs and evaluating content
    • Knowledge of robust risk assessment and analysis process
    • Exposure to ISO management system requirements
    • Exposure and usage of a complex EHS information management system
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    We’re looking for students who meet the following requirements:

    • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management, Safety Management, or Engineering
    • Enrolling as a Senior in the 2023-2024 academic year
    • OSHA and/or EPA regulatory knowledge is preferred
