Red Wing Shoe Company is excited to announce our 2023 Internship Program! The program is designed to offer you meaningful work that will prepare you for your career. You’ll get to see first-hand how our corporate teams develop strategies and practices that support our retail and manufacturing partners, and customers worldwide.

This position will offer a hybrid work structure. You will need to live within a commutable distance to Red Wing, MN as you’ll be working on site 2-3 days per week. Standard work hours for this position are Monday-Thursday 7:00am-4:00pm; Fridays 7am-11am.

Compensation is $20/hour.

WHAT TO EXPECT AS A PRODUCT INTERN:

 What you will do:

• Work with a best-in-class footwear product development team.  
• Manage our RW material library and work with suppliers to seek out innovative new materials
• Focus on sustainability and make recommendations throughout the summer on premium, eco-friendly materials that are appropriate for the shoes and boots we build today

What you will gain:

• Professional experience testing of materials with our PD team - in our lab and within full-boot wear trials
• Research and collaboration with supplier partners on emerging new materials appropriate for our brands
• Experience and training on key product development systems – MARs, Higg Index tool and more design/development systems
• Opportunity to make a Sustainability recommendation to entire team on materials that should be used in new development or within existing footwear

Qualifications

We’re looking for students who meet the following requirements:

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Product Design & Development, Industrial Design, or related field
• Enrolling as a Junior or Senior in the 2023-2024 academic year
• Digitally-savvy, with an appreciation and understanding of social media, web, etc.
• Attention to detail, execution and delivery according to aligned schedules
• Interest and intrigue around brands, consumers, marketing, etc.
