We are looking to hire a Business Analyst to join our New York, NY office to work on a Hybrid Schedule.

Your responsibility as a Business Analyst will be as an advisory role and will provide tax information on corporate actions events (Mergers, acquisitions, etc.).

Description:

Start on-site and 3 days/week on-site Operations Tax Advisory, a division of TCRA, is responsible for providing tax advisory services to Morgan Stanley tax operations teams, branch offices, client representatives and other internal business partners. Responsibilities:

• This position will focus primarily on providing timely and accurate tax and cost basis information on corporate actions and security classification to ensure correct client tax reporting.
• Responsibilities include advisory on tax reporting/withholding relating to equities, preferred stock, publicly traded partnerships, debt securities and distributions along with mergers and tender offers events.
• In addition, it is essential that the guidance be properly tracked, reviewed, maintained, and fed to downstream systems.

Skills/Experience:

• General knowledge of corporate actions income and reorganization processing
• Professional experience with tax from the operational side including an understanding of Non-Resident Alien and U.S. withholding tax and its impact on IRS tax forms reporting (1099/1042-S)
• Strong written/oral communication skills Ability to interact with individuals at various level of management
• Strong time-management skills as well as ability to multi-task
• Strong PC skills in Microsoft applications (Excel, Access and PowerPoint)
