Our client, a well-known healthcare organization, is seeking Invoice Research Specialist to join their team!! This is a fully remote opportunity requiring 40 hours per week from January to May!
Pay Rate: $20-25/hour
The Invoicing Research Specialist is responsible for processing, documenting, tracking and reconciliation of payments made and to retrieve medical records on behalf of health plans. This position is responsible for building relationships through various means of communication (email, phone, voicemail, fax, etc.) to ensure the chart is received in support of payments made to providers and copy center vendors. This position is also responsible for ad-hoc audits (internal and external) to ensure charts are received within the parameters of the health plan payment guidelines.
The successful candidate will have experience building relationships, overcoming objections, and negotiating timelines with business or professional organizations within specified timelines and goals.
The Invoice Research Specialist candidate will have the ability to communicate clearly while articulating potential challenges or risks to achieving goals to both internal and external team members.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for timely research of invoices in Change Healthcare’s platform to ensure all invoices are assigned to the correct chart id for payment processing.
- Responsible for timely follow up with providers and copy center vendors to ensure W-9 are provided.
- Responsible for timely follow up with providers and copy centers for missing information that possibly is delaying the payment of an invoice.
- Will be responsible for managing work and aging (less than 48 business hours) within the invoicing assigned folders
- Validation of accuracy of patient’s information in the OPM and that it matches the invoices and pull list used to make payments.
- Verifying the invoice is within health plan allowable cost limits.
- Documenting OPM for received invoices, W-9, and/or escalated issues.
- Research for invoices with incomplete or incorrect demographic data.
- Participate in testing and training as assigned.
- Rectify or escalate Provider office concerns to the limits of job skills and authority.
- Work in all areas with confidence of HIPAA compliance.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma – Associates degree preferred
- Intermediate Excel knowledge and experience
- At least six (6) months of work experience as a Scheduler, Field Coordinator, or equivalent position at a healthcare organization
- At least six (6) months of work experience – customer service or call center in a soft sales environment
- Ability to work flexible hours based on available work assignments and provider time zone locations.
- Ability to maintain productivity objectives for required phone contacts and complete required administrative work (i.e. manual faxes, requests for mail labels for medical offices, documenting and returning voicemails/e‐mails).
- Complete HIPAA; Fraud, Waste & Abuse; and Medicare training requirements.
- Ability to prioritize tasks based upon project objective goals for completion.
- Ability to work under stress and adapt to change.
- Ability to work independently or under the direction of others.
- Must be flexible as schedule changes may occur due to invoice pending payment volumes and/or staff size.
- Ability to multitask in a fast paced, timeline-driven environment to meet project commitments and goals.
- Exemplary communication skills with the ability to articulate information in a clear, concise manner to multiple levels of the organization, including clients.
- Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Platform.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to overcome provider or facility objections to successfully retrieve a chart.
- Strong organizational skills, including establishing priorities, process facilitation and project management/communication.
- Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills through creative means of data searching, with minimal supervision.
