Keeps accurate records on all volunteer information, including processing of applicants, as well as individual volunteer data and statistics. Coordinates the efforts of outside volunteer groups wishing to work with The Salvation Army. Functions as Kettle Coordinator, assists with administrative work in Development, and as needed, by department heads for special projects. Solicit volunteers needed for all departments. Screen and process volunteers according to The Salvation Army guidelines and the requirements of each department. Maintain all volunteer information on various software or other approved data management program. Complies and enters all department's statistics into the statistical program and generates reports as needed. Communicate with outside agencies and the general public regarding TSA, development projects/needs and volunteer opportunities with The Salvation Army, which includes phoning, correspondence, public speaking speaking and advertising. Develop Volunteers, in conjuction with department heads, so that they are able to do their volunteer work with skill and confidence. Encourage and recognize volunteers in appropriate ways to build a positive spirit among them. Create and maintain volunteer job descriptions. Function as Kettle Coordinator, which includes the soliciting and scheduling of bell ringers, may assist in securing bell ringing sites, the hiring of any paid bell ringers, preparing weekly payroll spreadsheet for bell ringers, assisting with the counting of kettle donations, and tracking daily bell ringing totals. Coordinate development projects, the local website, social media, capital campaigns and other activities in the Development Department. Coordinate volunteer resources for all events. Coordinate the Emmaus Meals program. Assists department heads as needed with special projects. Picks up daily mail at post office and provides relief coverage in reception area. Work some evenings, weekends, and holidays for events. (ie. Parades and fundraisers)Coordinate the Warming Center volunteers. Conducts Safe From Harm training for all TSA staff and volunteers. Creates graphics for use in print and online. Provides tours to public upon special request. Is available for assignments as needed. Qualifications The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal education, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for this position. Education:High School Diploma required, college degree desired. Certifications: Valid Wisconsin Driver's License with approval to drive from TSA's insurance carrier. Experience: This person should have three years' office experience, with computer proficiency. Experience with various volunteer and civic organizations is a plus. Skills:He/she must be able to speak publicly, work well with various age and social economic groups and be self-directed. Supervisory Responsibility: Supervises volunteers in conjunction with the department heads.
