    Requisition Number #03095 Counselor Post Date 1/3/2019 Title Counselor City Santa Monica State CA Description DRUG, ALCOHOL, ADDICTION COUNSELOR The Salvation Army Santa Monica Adult Rehabilitation Center POSITION AVAILABILITY ANNOUNCEMENT DATE OF ANNOUNCEMENT January 3, 2019 POSITION (Requisition #03095 Counselor) Drug, Alcohol, Addiction Counselor (FT) JOB PURPOSE: To provide expertise and guidance to all residents of the Adult Rehabilitation Center, while maintaining a minimum individual caseload of 30. QUALIFICATIONS: Certified Alcohol/Drug Counselor plus 3 years work/volunteer experience in the substance abuse field. Must possess current state certification: CCAPP or CAADE 1-year experience teaching or presenting material pertaining to Rehabilitation from addiction. Strong individual counseling, group facilitation, and crisis intervention skills. Age 21 or above. Ability to make critical decisions and work with minimal supervision. Integrity, resourcefulness, initiative and culturally competent. Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, MSWord/Excel with ability to learn additional software. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. Professional judgment and integrity in holding in confidence all information pertaining to beneficiaries, families and co-workers. Commitment to support/apply the philosophy/goals of The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center Program and the ARC Mission Statement. Active Christian world-view. If in recovery, must have 3 years of continuous sobriety. No evidence of existing chemical dependency. Must be willing to travel to events both in the area and in the territory. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and other office equipment. Ability to communicate clearly on the telephone. Ability to lift up to 30lbs. Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.
