Sherwin-Williams/CTS National - Apprentice Driver Sherwin-Williams 3,171 reviews - Chicago, IL 60290 The CTS National Company Apprentice Driver position is an entry level program designed to provide recent Class A CDL Driving School graduates the opportunity to master driving skills necessary for a successful career transitioning to our CTS Company Fleet. This position will familiarize the Apprentice driver with Sherwin-Williams facilities, processes and procedures before the end goal of transitioning to our CTS Company Fleet. The CTS National Company Apprentice Driver holds a Commercial Driver's License with a Hazardous Materials endorsement, or willingness to obtain it prior to employment. The CTS National Company Apprentice Driver operates a tractor/trailer vehicle with tractors in excess of 20 feet with a trailer up to 53 feet in length. The driver is responsible for pick-up and deliveries to Sherwin-Williams distribution service centers and plants, raw material vendors, external customers, and occasionally Sherwin-Williams stores. The driver must maintain DOT logs, conduct vehicle inspections, and comply with all DOT regulations. Major tasks include: * Operate a tractor/trailer vehicle * Vehicle inspections * Maintain logs and proof of delivery Principle Accountabilities include:

• Responsible for on-time delivery * Assisting with loading and unloading of freight * Responsible for safe driving * Responsible for inspection of vehicles * Maintaining electronic logs * Complying with D.O.T. Regulations * Following all company policies, procedures, and rules Basic Qualifications: * Must be at least 25 years of age * Must have a Class A Commercial Driver's License * Must have at least 1 year of Class A combination (tractor/trailer) driving experience. Both LTL (less than truck load) or over-the-road driving experience will meet this requirement. * Must have Hazardous Materials Endorsement or be willing to obtain * Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation * Must have the legal right to work in the United States Preferred Qualifications: * High school diploma or GED * Applicant already has their Hazardous Material Endorsement * Willing to drive in all 48 states * Zero preventative accidents * Zero moving violations The successful candidate must also pass the drug screen, physical, and background check.
