Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
The Procure to Pay Accountant will work at SSC and be primarily responsible for our virtual payment process, preparing AP related journal entries, and performing several monthly reconciliations. The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to advance the current state of these responsibilities and be an active contributor to Sonic's aggressive process automation efforts. This person will work closely with the dealership personnel, suppliers and SSC teammates.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
•Maintain and advance our Virtual Payment program which consists of onboarding new vendors, resolving escalated disputes, and preparing journal entries
•Provide ad hoc training for supplier representatives new to Virtual Payment processing
•Prepare journal entries for centrally billed expenses, card programs and supplier refund checks
•Month End Close support including resolving dealership/corporate ad hoc inquires
•Process and prepare journal entries for digital disbursements
•Meet all departmental Service Level Agreements for areas of responsibility
•Maintain and author new standard operating procedure and training materials for position as needed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
•Work habits that are customer-centric and committed to exceeding the customer's needs
•Ability to learn quickly and problem solve around unusual circumstances
•4- year degree in accounting/business and/or equivalent work experience
•Proficient in Microsoft Excel
•Must be able to communicate effectively with both strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a Shared Services environment
•Must have excellent planning and organizational skills.
•High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE
Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in virtual payments, payment card programs and/or Concur.
