Sound Pure is seeking a technically experienced marketing intern to participate in email, social media, and video marketing for a unpaidinternship opportunity at our offices in downtown Durham, NC. Sound Pure is an online retailer of high-end, boutique pro audio, guitar, and drum gear, with a substantial YouTube presence (over 17 million views) and an in-house, Grammy-nominated music recording studio. This is not your run-of-the-mill coffee-fetching internship! Interns will get a hands-on opportunity to interact with salespeople, musicians, recording studio engineers, and other marketing employees and interns in a collaborative, fast-paced, and entrepreneurial environment. He/she will also have the opportunity to explore their own creative potential while shooting and editing videos and creating marketing emails following company guidelines. Because virtually all the video and marketing work will eventually be published, interns will complete the internship with a list of videos and marketing campaigns to show future employers. It is our expectation that by the end of the internship the intern will have participated on dozens of small video projects and helped build numerous marketing campaigns. Minimum requirements * In progress college degree (currently enrolled college students), with a preference in video and video editing (photography experience and sound experience, including sound editing, are beneficial to the work that you will be doing as well) * Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to copy edit text * Reliable transportation required * Well-versed general computer skills * Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow precise directions and company branding standards * Living within the RDU area during internship period Knowledge/skills required for the internship(some of these skills may be acquired early during the position) * a) Experience with video production, including basic working knowledge and ability to use iPad and DSLR-type video cameras. * b) Experience using Final Cut Pro X, including using Motion generators and titles. * c) Excellent writing skills, and ability to follow company grammar and style standards. * d) Strong basic computer skills (Mac) and working knowledge of Google docs, spreadsheets, and Photoshop. * e) Familiarity with social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Additional useful skills (these experiences and knowledge are helpful and preferred but not required) * Video techniques such as lighting techniques, white balancing a camera, framing shots and multiple camera angles, use of lapel microphones and wireless mics, hand-held shots, and experience with live shoots. * Computer skills in the areas of HTML or other internet website languages or site-building software and maintenance languages. * Any experience in web-based search-engine optimization techniques, and their execution. * Audio recording experience (home or professional studio), and any expertise in the fields of audio recording and editing programs, in particular ProTools. * Music experience of any kind.
