Primary Responsibilities: * Identifies products to be offered and competitive pricing for local, national and vertical markets (healthcare, schools and government) bid opportunities * Provides analytical support by interpreting business and customer information on complex bids * Influences the implementation of pricing decisions and strategies with Sales Managers, Market VPs, Strategic Account Managers, and VP Strategic Account Managers. Prepares analysis to provide executive management with comprehensive information related to trends on margins in markets and/or the customer level * Enhances and maintains existing reports and analytical applications through modification and requirements gathering obtained from feedback from sales representative/managers on report changes. Analyzes proposed pricing approach to ensure profitable and competitive results. Keeps abreast of competitive pricing * Works with the appropriate personnel in the field to determine product selection and pricing strategy that will win customers to select Staples Advantage as their preferred vendor * Develops necessary pricing models for larger bids or more complex opportunities. Models multiple what if hypothetical pricing approaches to bidding in order to optimize margin. Applies usage figures (provided or calculated) to project overall anticipated margin. Communicates changes in logic to management to improve models * Leads presentations with field sales organization, field account implementation management, and headquarters departments to implement new pricing specifications and arrangements in a timely and organized manner
