The Store Leadership Pathway will provide you the opportunity to learn and develop the skills and experience to jumpstart your management career within our TJX retail environment.
The Team:
Our Store Leadership team members are intelligent risk-takers and entrepreneurial thinkers who treat their stores as their own businesses – responsible for informed and autonomous business decision making, directly and indirectly managing and developing teams of up to 200 Associates, and ensuring our customers have a memorable and engaging treasure-hunt shopping experience.
The Opportunity:
Upon joining TJX, you will begin a five week training program designed to prepare and provide you with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to run your own store – all while positioning you with the opportunity to launch a successful career in retail operations. Our training is a blend of structured learning and hands-on experience to prepare you to become one of our future retail leaders. Our intensive training will help you understand our business before you take on an Assistant Store Manager role in your first store.
As an Assistant Store Manager you’ll learn how to tackle everything from staffing and developing your team, creating and executing our unique treasure-hunt customer experience, to making on the spot merchandising decisions in your store. Deliveries arrive at our stores every day (we never know what’s coming) and inventory turns faster than traditional retailers, so you’ll gain experience managing a complex retail environment at greater speed and with more variety than any other retailer may provide.
Your Future:
Once you’ve gained in-store experience and built on your success, you will be best prepared to move into a Store Manager role. Other career paths include opportunities in store operations, field management, distribution, or the corporate office. However, many of our people find their niche in store management and stay with us for their entire careers.
