Who are we?

The supply chain solutions team partners with the key functional areas across the organization to provide analytical and thought leadership to help the organization make sound decisions. We are also an operations team that manages all day-today activity regarding Zappos operations. We are a support and operations group that strives to provide the best customer service to our internal and external stakeholders. By creating long-lasting relationships and partnering with department leaders and shareholders, we are able to share our skills to help leaders answer questions about the day-to-day operations as well as provide strategic guidance for the future. This includes analyzing and forecasting for transportation, fulfillment, photo studio, and more! Our group plays a pivotal role in ensuring complete customer satisfaction and reducing costs to positively impact the bottom line.

What will you do?

As a college intern on the SCS team, you will play an important role assisting in the business planning process and with analytical and strategic support to internal customers throughout our business. Additionally, you will be assigned to contribute to specific functional areas, assisting senior data science members develop critical reporting, metrics, and models to help them make the most informed decisions.

In this position, you will be challenged to grow professionally by mastering quantitative analysis and modeling skills with the guidance of senior members of the supply chain team. You will have the opportunity to learn about the operations of your assigned functional areas and use your analytical prowess to help develop models to aide in providing actionable, insightful analysis.

The CliffsNotes:

• Assist in implementing the company business planning and execution.
• Help develop models and tools that provide a platform for decision making on a variety of business and operational issues.
• Provide analytical and decision-making support for key company initiatives.
• Manage the data transformation between Amazon and Zappos.
• Distribute reporting and track correspondence.
• Assist with the preparation of presentations and white papers.
• Assist with other tasks to ensure the SCS team meets their deliverables.

Are you a match?

• Data Science or Supply Chain major preferred, or if you just have a strong passion and knowledge of data mining, we are OK with that too!
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service orientation.
• Organized, detail oriented, and ability to multitask.
• Understanding of SQL, Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Normal working business hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
• Must be willing to relocate to Las Vegas, NV for the summer of 2018 (did we mention we have some sweet housing lined up?!).
