Co-op Program Overview
Retail Business Services offers an IT Co-op Program focused with the Design and Research practice and is targeted to current students and recent graduates. As part of this program, you’ll work collaboratively with the designers, product owners and engineers who support the grocery brands Retail Business Services serves, including Food Lion, The GIANT Company, Giant Food, Hannaford and Stop & Shop, to develop IT solutions for the next generation of grocery retail. Participants can expect to leverage human-centered design methods, such as research, personas, user flows, and visual design, to create new offerings and ways of doing business in the retail industry.

Responsibilities
Work closely with experienced designers, product managers and developers in an Agile environment
Conduct primary and secondary research to inform experience requirements
Design users flows, create lo-fi, mid-fi, and hi-fi concepts all while maintaining the business requirements
Present designs/process to team leads and business stakeholders for feedback
Participate in Scrum Ceremonies
Provide design elements, style guides, comps, templates, and finished solutions
Provide feedback during sessions to help other designers on the team
Assist in Design Thinking workshop facilitation
Who You Are ??
You are insatiably curious, positively resilient, intentionally inclusive, and unapologetically creative. You do the right thing and know how to put fun in scope.
You’re a born detective with design chops for days, a storyteller, an end-to-end thinker, a problem-solver who can untangle complexity to create something that works.
You know your way around collaborative design and prototyping tools, such as Mural, Miro, Figma, InVision, Sketch and Adobe Creative Suite.
You have knowledge of design research methods, user interface models, application design and website functionality.
You’ve tamed the Format Pane in the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel, and know which tool is best when sharing ideas with different groups.
You know enough about front-end languages (like HTML), computer-information systems, data-analysis fundamentals and data-visualization tools (like Power BI) to hold up your end of a conversation with an engineer or analyst.
You have a killer online portfolio
