Our mission is to provide our customer with an unimagined experience. - Title - Assistant Buyer- Beauty - Reports to - Buyer - Supervises - Merchandise Assistant - Overview - The Assistant Buyer is responsible for working with the Buyer to create an exciting and timely product assortment that meets or exceeds the sales volume and profits for their departments. They execute the vision of the President, GMM, DMM, and Buyer while servicing the Anthropologie customer. - Responsibilities - Assist buying team in product selection and follow buy from inception to delivery. - Update and maintain assortment sheets to provide real time information to buying and planning teams on assortment. - Analyze business, such as color, size and attribute selling to provide narrative information to assist the buying team in responding to business needs. - Liaison between vendors and the Buyer. - Understand the store profile by product category to assist the Buyer in tailoring the assortment to optimize regional and demographic differences. - Respond to customer feedback and market trends and develop action plans that drive category-specific growth and increased profitability. - Make recommendations to the Buyer for marketing and promotional opportunities for their categories and suggest development of the marketing, packaging, and promotional plans. - Qualifications - Minimum 2-3 years retail buying experience. - Ability to work on cross functional teams. - Strong communication and organizational skills. - Detail oriented. - Clear and concise presentation skills. - An understanding of the customer's wants and needs, the shopping experience, and the ability to creatively identify the appropriate product/trend that will appeal to the customer and meet their expectations. - Fundamental understanding of the statistical components of the business (IMU%, MD%, GM%, selloff, WOS, etc.) and the OTB. - Education - Bachelors Degree in Fashion, Business, or a related field. - Location - Philadelphia, PA - Travel - Some travel required. - The above information has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
