Job Summary: We are looking for a full-time Industrial Design Intern in the Advanced Digital Creation department, part of the VF Global Innovation Network. As an Innovation intern, you will create and develop product concepts and prototypes for a range of VF brands, cooperating with the Footwear and Apparel Innovation teams to explore new processes and methods of make. You will also experiment with new workflows, pushing the boundaries of what can be done with Digital Creation tools.nbsp; Essential Functions : * Inspire the brands through innovative applications of digital technologies for future product and experiences. * Tackle todays design challenges with new tools and processes. * Incubate, validate and showcase new digital capabilities. You are a digital native, understanding the power of data and how it drives powerful visuals and innovative products. * You strive to create amazing product and experiences and will explore all available means to do so. Skills amp; Experience Requirements: Experience: Years of Related Professional Experience: 0-1 yr. Education: Currently enrolled in an accredited education institution within an Industrial Design discipline. Software Proficiency: nbsp; * Illustrator, Photoshop, Word, Keynote/Powerpoint a must * CAD proficiency in software packages like Modo or Maya, 3D Studio Max, Cinema 4D, Blender, Zbrush, Rhino, Grasshopper, Solidworks, Keyshot, Colorway strongly recommended * Experience in 3D printing equipment, 3D scanning a plus * Knowledge in coding languages (Python, C++, Java,) a plus * Experience using apparel specific software like Clo3D, Marvelous Designer, Lotta, vStitcher welcome Communication: * Strong, confident, compelling presenter with developed communication skills * Engaged collaborator * Excellent sketching and problem solving skills * A strong aesthetic and fashion sense * Interpersonal skills and a strong team spirit Experience and knowledge: * Strong knowledge of aesthetic form and the ability to design for different consumers and end uses * Experienced in working with design tech packages and executing of product designs strongly preferred * Experienced in research and analysis and design cycles * Experienced in building design presentations * Ability to manage multiple projects during the product creation cycle * Knowledge and understanding of apparel and footwear construction * Knowledge of product cycles and the manufacturing processes * Knowledge of textile and material construction and properties * Knowledge of product costs and impact of design Posted TodayFull timeR-20190102-0176 Organized in 1899, VF Corporation is a global leader in branded lifestyle apparel, footwear and accessories, with global iconic brands, 64,000 associates and $12.4 billion in revenue.
