Industrial Engineering Intern (January 2019 - May 2019) Internship ProgramStatement **The internshipprogram at Volkswagen Group of America Chattanooga Operations is intended toprovide college / university students and recent graduates the opportunity touse and develop skills they have learned in the classroom by working at ourstate-of-the-art production facility, and to provide Volkswagen Chattanooga theopportunity to develop talent for potential future entry-level positions. ** ** ** Our internships arefull-time positions (40 hrs/week). Candidates will be expected to beavailable to work during normal business hours (Monday Friday; exact hourswill vary by position and some positions might require work onSaturdays). To be eligible for the internshipprogram, candidates are required to be enrolled at an accredited post-secondaryeducational institution, or have graduated from one within the 6 months priorto the start date of the internship. Candidates who do not meetthis guideline will not be considered. This position will start on January 7th,2019 and end on May 17th, 2019. Applications for later terms will not beaccepted at this time. GeneralResponsibilities: As alocal intern, the applicant shall primarily: * Work within the LOD department to improve theTeam Member training process of established Industrial Engineering standardizedwork (STW). * Successful intern will collaborate on a dailybasis with Industrial Engineers in the Assembly department and Process Expertsin the Profi (professional) room to enhance the training standards so that moreefficient and understandable process standards are communicated to TMs. * Plan and implement the improvement of STW(Standard Work). * Collaborate with Industrial Engineering andProcess Experts to generate the revised training standard * Rewrite training standards in an establishedformat to be used in OJT training scenarios. * Expand results from the Assembly shop into Bodyand Paint shop training functions. * Serve as central processing agent for ECOchanges and adjustments * Assist the Profi Room and Lean Center with thePA2 & 5 seater introduction * Other related duties as required to supporteither Industrial Engineering or Profi Room Process Experts (i.e. track andcontrol of training records). EducationRequired: 2+ yearstowards Industrial Engineering Degree from an accredited University (or relateddegree).
