Teams hiring summer interns include the following: Business Intelligence Business Intelligence at Wayfair is the engine that powers a company obsessed with data. BI Senior Managers move fast, iterate quickly on big business problems, work smart, technology to accelerate unlocking insights and provide outsized value to our customers. The team treats data as a resource; making information globally accessible and eliminating silos. The Business Intelligence Senior Manager will lead a team, providing critical data to our internal business partners to drive strategic and tactical decisions. In addition, the Business Intelligence will play a role in architecting both Wayfairs current and next generations of our first class self-service BI platform. Category Management Category Management is composed of Wayfairs lead merchandising teams focused on generating high revenue growth. Dedicated teams run category-specific businesses, such as furniture, bedding, seasonal décor, lighting, tabletop, and are responsible for managing the overall health of the category, primarily by building and growing strong supplier relationships. In addition to category teams, we have curation-focused teams that drive category strategy through promotions, exclusive brand development, catalog design and site merchandising. Competitive Intelligence Competitive Intelligence is focused on how to optimize Wayfairs strategic positioning in its rapidly evolving competitive landscape. This cross-functional and entrepreneurial team is building cutting edge Big Data and Advanced Analytics capabilities that impact every major business function at the company; this unique, external market perspective complements our robust internal data to help the organization make smarter decisions. Past projects have included: developing first-ever dynamic visualizations that enable category managers to optimize our product selection, creating products that track competitor movements and assess relative strategic importance over time, and building dashboards that illuminate competitors marketing strategies and spending behavior. Customer Growth Our Customer Growth team is responsible for growing our active customer base and topline revenue. We develop and execute the growth strategy and forecasting across our family of brands. We have a build-first culture: we work directly with our in-house creative agency to develop a vision and then test that with customers by leveraging our proprietary advertising technology platform. When ideas we test generate positive ROI, we scale them into programs and campaigns; when they dont, we learn and improve. Each of these small teams provides unique access to the operation and decision-making of the business as a whole, through internal financial diligence and analysis, external communication and marketing of the business and the evaluation of strategic ventures. Previous MBA interns and graduates have played leading roles in restructuring commercial arrangements with media partners, evaluating the efficiency of capital utilization across business lines, performing market and competitor research and triaging acquisition opportunities. Prior banking, consulting or finance experience is preferred. Merchandising Wayfair continues to take the online customer experience to the next level, optimizing every part of the online shopping experience to help customers find what theyre looking for and create a home they love. The Merchandising team is at the center of the online customer experience, responsible for all content (descriptions, dimensions, imagery, inspiration etc.) for Wayfairs vast online catalog of 10 million products. The Merchandising Operations team drives innovative, high-impact process improvement projects that directly affect our customers shopping experience and bottom line. We work in partnership with cross functional stakeholders such as: Category Management, Product/Engineering, Site Merchandising, Comp Intel, Data Science, and Business Intelligence. We are an expert on how our customers shop and are key partners for our suppliers. Site Merchandising teams relentlessly identify opportunities to enhance the customer experience across all product categories. Through analysis of site metrics and related data, team members develop and execute strategic cross-functional projects that improve conversion rate and drive revenue growth. These projects include hand-curated landing pages, developing inspirational content, and creatively driving engagement with our customers at every stage of the funnel. Operations Product Innovation Were the Product Management team for Wayfair Operations. We build the foundational products for Wayfairs Supply Chain , Customer Service, Product Catalog, Vendor Management, Outbound Sales, and Enterprise Applications. We use business acumen, data-driven strategic thinking, intellectual curiosity and creative technical solutions to help set vision and create measurable impact. We transform data into insights, find opportunities to improve customer & user experience, reduce costs, grow revenue and collaborate with operations, analytics, and engineering partners to bring solutions to life. We are empowered to drive the end-to-end product management life-cycle for technically complex strategies, from ideation and requirements gathering to prioritization, implementation, learning and iteration, to deliver continuous value to Wayfair and our customers. Operations General Management Operations in Wayfair covers a broad based continuum that includes: Supplier Operations, Sales and Service, Product Merchandising, Global Delivery, Customer Experience Center of Excellence, Process Transformation, and more. The Operations team develops and executes transformational strategies that generate game-changing competitive advantage and enduring customer satisfaction. Roles in Operations combine strategy with hands on execution and the ability to own and drive results. Dedicated teams work directly with suppliers, vendors and customers to provide new levels of efficiency and performance supporting all Wayfair businesses globally. Operations Analytics Operations Analytics serves as internal, cross-functional analytics consultants supporting the Operations group and senior leadership team on a wide array of strategic and operational decisions including network and transportation design, 3rd-party carrier strategy, warehouse footprint optimization, facility capacity forecasting, and inventory planning. Pricing & Profitability The Pricing and Profitability team is focused on growth strategy and business analytics across Wayfairs various sites, geographies, and product verticals. Typical projects will include developing growth strategies for a class, analyzing trends and conducting deep-dives of category performance, understanding competitive dynamics and positioning, hypothesizing and testing new pricing and sort strategies, modeling sales and margin impact, outlining operational initiatives, and working with cross-functional teams to optimize & execute on the path to profitable growth. Strong candidates will be excited about thinking critically about business strategy, analyzing large sets of data, and collaborating with a cross-functional group of business partners on high-impact initiatives.
