DUTIES INCLUDE:

• Financial modeling for employer group health plans including pricing and rate setting, contribution and plan design modeling, benchmarking, and risk management/stop loss strategies
• Preparation of IBNR reserve calculations.
• Preparation of client-facing actuarial memoranda and presentations
• Assistance with funding analyses, demographic analyses, strategic financials, experience reporting, and any other ad hoc financial and/or actuarial modeling needs

REQUIREMENTS:

• 1-3 years of Employee Health Benefits consulting experience with particular emphasis on healthcare is required.
• Completion of at least 2 actuarial exams administered by the Society of Actuaries with a desire to earn, at minimum, an ASA-designation.
• Knowledge of and experience with aspects of the healthcare marketplace including plan design, pricing, IBNR reserves, experience projections, and administration.
• Demonstrated ability to meet internal and external deadlines while maintaining high quality standards.
• Ability to provide, where appropriate, clear direction or the ability to listen and incorporate the ideas of others.
• Demonstrated commitment to serving clients and internal stakeholders while taking ownership of work product.
• Excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Superior to excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Must be able to present in front of external clients
• High degree of self-motivation and creative problem solving
• Knowledge of Microsoft Products (Excel, Access, VBA)
• Knowledge of SQL/Python/R, or desire to learn
• Ability to travel for in-person client and team meetings when needed
