Lockton Management in Kansas City will offer the Summer Associate Program during summer 2022. The interns are exposed to different functional areas of the business and have the opportunity to interact with many Associates. Each intern is paired with a Performance Coach who helps to guide them through the course of the internship. The program is very "hands-on" with the intern being included in such activities as marketing, policy review, data analytics, risk management, operations and IT process'. Interns get the opportunity to meet and work with a variety of students from varying schools and programs.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Prepares a variety of correspondence, reports, and other forms of documentation
• Provides assistance in copying, sorting, binding, distribution and/or mailing of materials
• Receives, reviews, and proactively handles daily mail, bringing items to manager when attention is required
• Coordinates and communicates calendar appointments for functional manager, ensuring preparedness for each meeting
• Creates and maintains files of correspondences, records, and other materials
• Composes and prepares a variety of correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, and other documents including handwritten notes, auditory dictation, transcription, or typed notes, ensuring proper format, grammar, spelling, and punctuation
• Provides telephonic support for functional manager, screening calls, answering questions, and refer callers to appropriate resource
• Interacts with internal and external Clients, exemplifying genuine hospitality and service
• Performs other responsibilities and duties as needed

Qualifications:

Successful candidates have shown balanced success in both academics and extracurricular activities. GPA requirement is a minimum of 3.3 and involvement in a combination of sports, student government, college clubs, community service, and work is desired. Lockton also looks for leadership positions in these activities as an added plus. Strong to excellent communication skills are required as well. Lockton looks for students entering their senior year who are focused on a career in commercial insurance or employee benefits.
