    OVERVIEW:

    People and Purpose Interns 2024

    During the 11-week summer experience, interns will embark on a meaningful journey and make tangible contributions to the organization’s success. This structured and well-organized program provides on-the-job training, mentorship, classroom instruction, cross-functional departmental exposure, and an end-of-program project presentation.

    The program is composed of on-the-job training, mentorship, classroom instruction, cross-functional/departmental exposure and a capstone project and presentation. During the program, our HR interns will partner with the broader People and Purpose Organization to understand teammates’ needs and develop value-add actionable solutions, tools, and resources.

    Job Duties & Responsibilities:

    Day in and Day out of the Role

    • Provide proposal of recommended changes to the current people processes. Identify success measures of current processes & partner with HR Business Partners, learning team, and additional stakeholders to ensure content is available for opportunity areas.
    • Introduction to Labor Relations and support overseeing investigations. Partner with Distribution Center and Field Operations Teams for additional experience.
    • Build relationships with key decision makers within a functional business unit to ensure the alignment and support of business needs, objectives, goals, and operating priorities with HR policies, procedures, and initiatives.
    • Work with Center of Excellence teams within the HR organization (Talent Acquisition, Compensation & Benefits, People Analytics, Employee Relations, and Talent Management/Development & Learning) to understand what opportunities and future collaboration could be used cross-functionally and with the broader People and Purpose (P&P) Team.
    • Complete a capstone project presentation for the greater People and Purpose Leadership Team (PPLT)

    Requirements:

    Must haves to be eligible for the role

    • Graduation Date of December 2024 or May 2025
    • Enrolled in an accredited Master’s Program (pursuing an elevated degree in Labor Relations, Human Resources, Employee Relations, Industrial Relations etc.)
    • Please disregard "Pursuing Bachelor's Degree" below - you must be enrolled in a Master's Program
    • Ability to relocate to the Pittsburgh, PA area for the summer

    Start Date: May 13, 2024
    End Date: July 25, 2024

    Full-time opportunities in 2025:

    Interns will be evaluated at the end of the program for full-time positions in 2025. Qualified interns will be placed into our HR Development Program.

    • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills

    • Ability to balance creative/strategic thinking and project execution
    • Strong proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
    • People Soft, Workday or other HCM exposure
