OVERVIEW:
At DICK’S Sporting Goods, interns have the opportunity to work with and learn from the leaders of a growing Fortune 400 company. DICK’S Sporting Goods is returning to campus this year; to recruit, train and develop top collegiate talent to help fuel the Digital Transformation of a multi-billion-dollar omni-channel business.
During the 11-week summer experience, interns will embark on a meaningful journey and make tangible contributions to the organization’s success. This customized in-house program provides on-the-job training, mentorship, classroom instruction, cross-functional departmental exposure, and an end-of-program project presentation.
As a Product Management Intern, you will look to discover, understand, and communicate product management methodologies and frameworks to create intuitive, loveable products. Interns will work in a fast-paced, lean environment, collaborating closely with other interns, as well as full-time Product designers, product managers, and software engineers.
We are looking for people with hybrid talents who are curious, passionate about problem solving, and can drive successful product outcomes in support of our customers and the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy - You will learn the following while working with a Product Management coach
- Use data to identify customer pain points
- Participate in sessions to identify the right problems
- Participate in prioritizing problems for best business outcomes
- Gather & analyze market data inclusive of creating competitive analyses, bench market or SWOT presentations
- Participate in identifying patterns in data & build expanded research models
- Create & present reports on findings, defects, improvements, statuses & risk management
- Use decision support tools to weigh the competing factors for prioritization of backlog
- Contribute to team discovery efforts
Execution - You will learn the following while working on a Product Team
- Tasked with key projects & provides support to more senior-level Product Managers
- Scoping & prioritization of tasks that are assigned to you
- Perform validation for production releases, bug fixes & feature requests
- Troubleshoot defects, participate in root cause analysis & find solutions for resolution
- Work on specific features, improving them & creating new ones upon instruction
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including planning, grooming, demos & retrospectives
- Write user stories to articulate work to be done by Engineering that support outcome delivery
- Work closely with engineering to ensure delivery of products map to customer experience & business requirements within needed timelines

- Working a 40-hour work week, Monday - Friday
Qualifications -

We look for potential candidates with:
- Attending an accredited university, college or technical school
- Graduation date of Winter 2024 or Spring 2025
- An undergrad or Master’s degree in Product Management, Business, Technology or related field
This internship will be held in Pittsburgh, PA. Free housing will be provided and travel to and from Pittsburgh will also be covered.

End Date: July 28, 2023
Full-time opportunities in 2024:
Interns qualified for full-time opportunities will be evaluated at the end of the program. Qualified interns will be placed into a full-time technology development rotational program. (Technology Development Program)
