    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Tour Leader Internship is an opportunity for individuals excited about mentoring the development of the next generation of prominent College and professional golfers, and traveling throughout the U.S. with them to attend world-class junior golf events. While traveling across the U.S. with ACDS players, parents and staff, Group Leaders will attend dozens of the most renowned junior golf events, visit College campuses and generally assist ACDS is operating its Summer Golf Tours in 2017.

    ACDS Interns play an integral role in helping junior golfers hone their skills and improve their standing for College golf, on their way to becoming both successful College athletes and responsible citizens of their communities; thus positively impacting their lives. Interns who take on the job are also contributing enormously to the development of junior golfers and the growth of junior golf at home and abroad.

    POSITION DESCRIPTION:

    Summer Golf Tours run nation-wide between May and August, and are exclusive to ACDS Program Members. Summer Golf Tours are specifically designed to allow junior golfers to build their College golf resumes on the junior golf circuit in the U.S. Junior golfers and families travel with ACDS Staff across the U.S., competing in junior golf tournaments honing their skills, improving their status and ranking, showcasing their talent to College coaches, and growing as individuals.

    Tour Leaders will follow a specific schedule of travel between junior golf events and College campuses. During this time, Interns will chaperone junior golfers’ and their parents and will be responsible for the family’s logistics, positive experience and overall goodwill. Intern may be required to drive players and families between tournaments, hotels, airports, and College campuses, and will travel with both ACDS staff and other Interns.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Under the direct supervision of the Development Coordinator;

    • Flying and driving with players between events in multiple cities
    • Driving players between airports, hotels, tournaments and College campuses.
    • Chaperoning players on pre-arranged College campuses visits
    • Assisting AJGA staff at AJGA events upon request
    • Maintaining and submitting a weekly activity reports
    • Collecting receipts and producing weekly expense reports.
    • Relaying parents’ or players’ concerns to ACDS directors in a timely manner
    • Assisting players and families with monitoring and transporting equipment
    • Communicating with College coaches on-site at junior golf events.
    • Promote ACDS mission by modeling organization’s values
    • Undergo ongoing training from ACDS Coordinators and Directors.
    • Assist the Communications Team in creating and publishing media content
    • Communicate and coordinate with ACDS partner organizations
    • Respect and closely adhere to NCAA Bylaws
    • At all times, ensure a positive, safe environment for ACDS junior golfers
    • Convey the ACDS brand image to the public
    • Perform other duties, as assigned
  • Qualifications

    EDUCATION:

    • Graduation from an accredited high school or an equivalent certificate or diploma
    • Minimum 3 years completed in 4-year University Program
    • Minimum GPA of 3.00

    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

    • Minimum 3-years of College golf (NCAA DI, DII, DIII)

    QUALIFICATIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

    • Successfully pass criminal background checks performed by ACDS
    • Possess an appropriate U.S. Driver License with a driving record acceptable to ACDS
    • Be insurable by ACDS

    OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Exceptional communication, fiscal management and managerial skills
    • Willingness to take active leadership role
    • Highly motivated and task-oriented
    • Willingness to work long hours in hot/cold weather
    • Endure physical situations such as heavy lifting
    • Confident ability to drive and operate vans & cars, with a valid-driver's license
    • Confident ability to operate a company digital camera to take photographs
    • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office software
