    Cotopaxi is seeking a Campus Brand Manager. This is a position that requires energetic and creative leadership. You will be tasked with engaging and mobilizing members of your student community and leading them in various guerrilla marketing strategies to drive sign-ups for Questival Portland, June 19-20. This will be a trial run for a long term campus brand ambassador program to raise awareness for Cotopaxi moving forward.

    This position requires a strong interest in marketing, social media, PR, and communications strategy. It demands both energetic creativity and leadership.

    You will be tasked with developing social media, guerrilla-marketing, and PR campaigns that are customized and targeted for your surrounding community. You will organize and mobilize others to build a team, and lead multiple campaigns to engage members of your local community and to create awareness about the Questival.

    Cotopaxi is an outdoor gear company with a humanitarian mission at the core of its brand. Every product is tied to a specific social cause somewhere in the developing world. We are venture backed by top tier venture capital firms in Silicon Valley and New York.

    Because we are a direct-to-consumer company and don't sell our gear through traditional retail channels, the Questival is our go-to-market strategy. It is a 24 hour adventure race where teams compete with each other by completing quirky outdoor, adventure, and service-based challenges. The winning team wins a trip to Central America to compete in the Questival World Championship in a race across 7 countries from Belize to Panama.

    WHAT YOU WOULD DO:

    - Build a team of capable, high-energy influencers from your campus and/or community to help you organize and execute guerrilla campaigns to drive sign-ups for Questival.

    (Cotopaxi gear and other resources will be supplied to you for compensating your team.)

    - Organize your team and initiate grassroots promotional activities to raise awareness of Questival on campus and in the surrounding community.

    - Identify partnership opportunities with clubs, campus interest groups, local businesses, etc. and coordinate with them in co-promotional activities.

    - Motivate and support your team in efforts to drive Questival registrations.

    - Where available, coordinate llama visits to campus, take them around to meet people in your community, and spread the word about Questival (Yes, we are talking about real-live llamas).

  • Qualifications

    EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

    - Pursuing an undergraduate degree - Areas of study such as marketing, advertising, PR, business, etc. are a bonus.

    - Interest (and ideally, experience) in running marketing campaigns

    - Social media savvy (and ideally, an influencer)

    - Ability to lead, organize, and motivate teams

    - Experience putting on events is a bonus

    WHO YOU ARE (i.e. what’s most important)

    - Outgoing, hardworking, self-motivated, and reliable

    - Able to work independently in an entrepreneurial setting

    - Able to perform well outside of your comfort zone

    - Comfortable speaking with anyone at anytime

    - Must be a multi-tasker who works well under pressure
