    Have a passion for writing? Want to see your writing skills turned into tangle impact?

    New Story is a global crowdfunding platform that enables anyone to directly fund safe homes for families around the world. We are a Y Combinator portfolio company that has funded over 300 homes in under 2 years.

    New Story is looking for writing interns to work with us this fall and winter! Writers take raw data from our on-ground partners in Haiti, El Salvador, and Bolivia to create narratives for each family eligible for New Story funding. Writers can work remotely or in our SF office, and commit to writing 5-10 profiles each week (that’s about 3-6 hours).

    The best candidates will be excellent writers with a passion for social impact, community building, and technology.

    Details:

    Volunteer term runs until June 1st [we can be flexible on dates]

    • Unpaid, but we can work with your college/university to provide credit

    • Happy hours to connect with the New Story team and professional development (if you are in the Bay Area - although remote interns are welcome)

    • Opportunity to be on the front lines of a fast-growing nonprofit startup

  • Qualifications
    • Must have strong writing skills (will be asked to send 2 writing samples) and have a passion for social impact.

    • Must be able to commit a minimum of 5 hours per week to writing family stories
