    Frontier Technology Inc. (FTI) is seeking a D&I Cybersecurity Intern to support our software development projects. This position is designed for currently enrolled college students. Our summer internship program offers real work experience at a fast-growing company, exposure to senior leadership, and, potentially, career opportunities at FTI upon graduation!     This is a paid internship, running May – August 2023. All candidates must be able to work on site in Chesapeake, VA or Colorado Springs. CO.

    Responsibilities Include:

    • Work alongside Information Security/Cyber Security Analysts as they work to support software programmer in support of application development.
    • Gain experience with cybersecurity program mission requirements, Information Technology Networks, and Cyber Threat Intelligence Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs).
    • Assist in executing cyber applications and cyber assessments to ensure cybersecurity mission requirements are met.
    • Learn how to function as part of a Red Team/Blue Team and what test tools are utilized by each team.
    • Assist in managing and securing computer systems, networks, and IT infrastructure from unauthorized access, attacks, misuse, or damage by implementing various security processes, technologies, and best practices.
    • Provide secure administrative computing service to the business.
    • Ensure networks are secure from adversarial threats.
    • Ensure if/when threats are detected they are neutralized within a specific timeframe.
    • Create scripts to automate some of the security hardening and log scraping.
    • Create/modify exploits to use during Red Team operations using Bash, Python, etc.
  • Qualifications
    • Must be a Junior or Senior pursuing a bachelors or masters degree from an accredited institution in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance. Be an individual from historically underrepresented populations; including, but not limited to minorities, women, persons who identify as LGBTQ+, and persons with disabilities.
