  • Responsibilities

    We are seeking a resourceful and detail‑oriented Data Security Intern or Co-Op based in Boston, MA to support our global data request coordination processes and assist our Data Security function. This role will provide hands‑on experience with ServiceNow request management, cybersecurity‑related inquiries, and personal data protection activities within Schneider Electric's internal systems.

    The intern will work directly with a global coordinator and our Data Security Leader, gaining the skills and knowledge needed to ultimately function as a global coordinator supporting high‑volume external data requests. This intern will also create and complete data processing registers for the governance function.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a student pursuing a career in cybersecurity, data privacy, or information governance.

    Key Responsibilities

    External Data Request Coordination

    • Manage incoming external data requests submitted through the global ServiceNow portal.
    • Review submissions from Sales teams and create or triage tickets as needed.
    • Handle various customer‑driven inquiries across cybersecurity, ESG, sustainability, ethics & compliance, export controls, and HR/legal domains.
    • Maintain accuracy and completeness of request documentation in ServiceNow.
    • Develop expertise to function as a global coordinator for the request portal.

    Data Security & Privacy Support

    • Work closely with the Data Security Leader to support personal data processing register activities.
    • Maintain and update processing registers in the Schneider Electric platform.
    • Assist with compliance reviews, data classification, and documentation for personal data protection.
    • Help ensure all data security procedures follow internal standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Participate in improvement initiatives related to data governance and security operations.

    For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $22.00 - $27.00 per hour. In addition, this position is eligible for overtime pay and recognition programs. The compensation rate for this position is for candidates located within the United States. Individual pay is determined by several factors including knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

    What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

    • Currently pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, Data Privacy, or a related field.
    • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
    • Highly resourceful with the ability to research, interpret, and apply guidance from internal knowledge bases.
    • Excellent communication skills and comfort interacting with global stakeholders.
    • Ability to manage multiple requests and maintain attention to detail.
    • Able to work June-December 2026 as either an intern (full-time in summer and part-time in fall) or full-time Co-Op based in Boston, MA
