    Industrial Engineering Intern

    in our

    Lincoln, NE

    location for

    Fall 2026.

    No visa sponsorship or relocation will be provided for this role.

    The qualified candidate will be working under the direction of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager to assist in the implementation of Lean Manufacturing improvement projects that support our Schneider Production System (SPS).

    What will your responsibilities be?

    • Research, design, and implement manufacturing equipment (fixtures, tools, machines)
    • Product/component simplification and standardization which included analysis of existing components, research on alternatives and design of new component layouts
    • Investigate, evaluate, document, and optimize existing manufacturing processes

    What qualifications will make you successful?

    • Are actively pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
    • Possess leadership qualities and the ability to facilitate conflicts.
    • Are self-motivated and self-directed with a sense of urgency.
    • Have a solid work ethic - honors responsibility and commitment.
    • Have strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
    • Possess excellent communication and team collaboration skills (English language)
    • Possess proven ability to achieve results
    • Have exceptional leadership, interpersonal, problem solving, project management, and communication skills.
    • Have the ability to set overall priorities and form action plans to implement and monitor for results

    What will you do?

    • Support the Manufacturing Engineering department on implementing Schneider Production Standards to establish, maintain, and enhance the production equipment and processes with a focus on reducing downtime, improving quality, continuous improvement, and safety.
    • Participating on deploying Lean methodologies to improve safety, quality and productivity
    • Develop standardized work instructions to support Standard Time coordination.
    • Participate in Smart Factory initiatives including preparation and deployment of smart tools.

    For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD $23 to $27.50 per hour. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
