    JOB DESCRIPTION

    We are seeking an Associate Application Analyst summer intern to join our Technology organization. As a summer intern, you will take on meaningful work, engage in out-of-the-box problem solving, and participate in global case challenges and impactful initiatives. You will get the chance to work with multiple teams, systems, and products through a wide variety of data sources. From technology to business, we are looking for people who can innovate, collaborate, and bring Visa into the next level of a rapidly evolving digital marketplace.

    During the internship, you will work on one or more hands-on projects with the team. Our summer internship also equips you with social and professional networking events and developmental workshops, designed to provide you the resources and training to have an impactful summer.

    Some examples of previous summer intern projects:

    • Monitoring and managing critical processing streams which settle billions of dollars each day.

    • Analyzing routine daily processes to identify areas for automation and efficiency.

    Job duties and responsibilities may include:

    • Monitoring batch processes and file transfers

    • Taking corrective actions to recover failed jobs and file transfers to ensure batch processing is executed on time to meet SLAs

    • Communicating with Clients via e-mail and phone to address issues or provide status on file deliveries

    • Escalating based on documented processes

    • Documenting issues following standard ITIL Incident and Problem management processes

    • Preforming Change reviews, executing change tasks, and coordinating change activity as needed

    • Defining and updating team documentation including new standard processes and the daily shift handover

    • Assisting support teams in updating job documentation and job schedules as needed to support efficient batch processing

    • Preforming proactive analysis of the Visa’s complex batch schedules to detect potential problems. When necessary, take preventive actions

    • Preforming UAT (user acceptance testing) for new or upgraded operational monitoring tools and batch related user interfaces

    Basic Qualifications

    • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field, graduating December 2023 or later

    • Strong communications skills, specifically, the absence of repeated grammatical or typographical errors, clear and concise written and spoken communications, and communications that demonstrate professional judgment.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.), Z/OS or Linux platform.

    • Experience with file transfer protocols such as FTP, SFTP

    • Familiarity with Workload Automation & batch job schedulers, database technologies such as DB2, SQL, Hadoop storage formats (Apache Spark/Apache Hive), Streaming processes such as Kafka.

    • Strong ability to collaborate

    • Highly driven, resourceful and results oriented

    • Good team player and excellent interpersonal skills

    • Good analytical and problem-solving skills

    • Demonstrated ability to lead and navigate through ambiguity

    Work Authorization: Permanent Authorization to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment for this position. Visa will not sponsor applicants for work visas in connection with this position. Future sponsorship will not be considered.

    U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $25/hr to $30/hr USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.

    WORK HOURS: Varies upon the needs of the department.
