    JOB DESCRIPTION

    We are seeking an Associate Network Analyst intern for Network and Security Engineering in our Technology organization. As an intern, you will take on meaningful work, engage in out-of-the-box problem solving, and participate in global case challenges and impactful initiatives. You will get the chance to work with multiple teams, systems, and products through a wide variety of data sources. From technology to business, we are looking for people who can innovate, collaborate, and bring Visa into the next level of a rapidly evolving digital marketplace.

    During the internship, you will work on one or more hands-on projects with the team. Our summer internship also equips you with social and professional networking events and developmental workshops, designed to provide you the resources and training to have an impactful summer.

    SOME EXAMPLES OF PREVIOUS SUMMER INTERN PROJECTS:

    • Work with a geographically diverse set of technical teams to document processes, quantify and identify opportunities for resolution and continual performance improvement

    • Serve as an internal consultant within the Network Engineering and Operations organization to collaborate with engineers and architects to analyze improvement opportunities and lead the implementation of improvement efforts

    • Seek out opportunities for improvement, which may include technical solutions, process improvements, standardization efforts, automation projects, tools implementation, personnel related items (such as training), etc.

    • Provide guidance and leadership through the project life cycle for each identified improvement activity

    • Convert recommendations into business requirements for various tools development and support teams to implement

    • Establish and track key success metrics for Network, analyzing to proactively identify performance issues and measure the success of existing improvement efforts

    • Leverage continual improvement methodologies (Six Sigma) to drive improvement across key performance measures

    • Perform presentations to executive leadership regarding progress on high profile initiatives

    This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field, GRADUATING DECEMBER 2023 OR LATER

    • Strong communications skills, specifically, the absence of repeated grammatical or typographical errors, clear and concise written and spoken communications, and communications that demonstrate professional judgment.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Proficiency in performing data analysis in MS Office (Excel/Access/etc.) or other tools and process mapping in MS Visio

    • Experience with Engineering knowledge of network hardware, specifically Cisco routers and switches, with a strong focus on data center technology

    • Familiarity with TCP/IP network protocols, including common application protocols

    • CCNA or CCNP Routing and Switching certification

    • Experience or knowledge with high-availability networks in load-balanced, n-tier application environments

    • Experience or knowledge with process mapping / re-engineering, with experience developing business requirements to support business process improvement initiatives and instructional and procedural documentation and presentations

    • Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to extensively analyze business processes and workflows

    • The ability to elicit requirements from geographically dispersed teams

    • The ability to organize, translate and simplify requirements

    • The ability to analyze requirements to ensure optimal improvement to business processes from both a process and tools standpoint, while ensuring control processes to minimize business risk

    • The ability to translate tools requirements into concise business use cases

    • Business/client engagement skills and excellent verbal/written communication skills

    • Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and leadership skills along with effective communication (both written and verbal in English) skills

    • Strong ability to collaborate

    • Highly driven, resourceful and results oriented

    • Good team player and excellent interpersonal skills

    • Good analytical and problem-solving skills

    • Demonstrated ability to lead and navigate through ambiguity

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

    WORK HOURS: Varies upon the needs of the department.

    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

    MENTAL/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

    U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $25/hr to $30/hr USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
