Issuer Processing: Debit Processing Services (DPS), our Issuer Processing platform for North America, processes over half of all Visa Debit transactions and is the largest single prepaid processing platform for Visa prepaid transactions in the U.S. The team also partners with third-party companies outside of the U.S. to deliver value-added services through Visa-owned assets.

Essential Functions – As a Software Engineer, you will be part of our Issuer Processing Platform Development team to help design, enhance and build our open systems transactional platform. The successful candidate will:

• Be part of a team to design and develop REST based APIs and perform unit and integration testing on newly developed components.
• Assist with troubleshooting and resolving defects during the software development lifecycle.
• Interface directly with staff members of Development, Product Management, Project Management, and Quality Assurance.
• Have the ability to be self-directed and interact with technology and business partners at all levels.
• Be comfortable in a fast-paced customer focused environment that continually embraces the latest technologies and techniques.

• Minimum of 6 months of work experience or a Bachelor's Degree
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, CIS/MIS, or a related field, graduating January 2021 - August 2022
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 (or equivalent scale)

• Knowledgeable of common developer tool sets such as Java, XML, JSON, REST, Shell, Perl etc.
• Familiarity with Linux operating system administration
• Experience designing and developing Java and J2EE applications
• Ability to develop code that follows established coding guidelines.
• Working knowledge NoSQL DB/Mongo DB, considered a plus
• Understanding of Agile software development principles along with experience participating in agile projects
• Ability to lead and self-manage projects, tasks, challenges and address problems head-on
• Highly driven, resourceful and results oriented
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Service excellence and innovation; create opportunities; consistently think and act 'ahead of the curve.'
• Ability, desire and motivation to learn quickly and pick up new skills
