Skyworks Solutions is seeking a motivated university student for a 6-month Summer/Fall RFIC Engineering Co-Op position in the RF and Mixed-Signal Intelligence Solutions business unit at our Andover, MA design center. This six month opportunity begins in June 2027 and runs to December 2027. The candidate will join a diverse team of RFIC, Analog IC, and Module designers developing complex multichip, multi-technology wireless module solutions for Wi-Fi applications. Working alongside experienced engineers, the student will support the characterization, evaluation, and validation of advanced RF integrated circuits and front-end modules through hands-on laboratory measurements, data analysis, and technical problem solving. This position will provide the student with a well-rounded introduction to the RF electronic component design environment and suits individuals seeking a career in the field of RF and analog integrated circuits. Skyworks is a world-class, vertically integrated company with manufacturing capabilities in RF semiconductors, acoustic filters, packaging, and test. The candidate will gain exposure to all aspects of product realization and work with an extended cross-site team to validate and deliver high-performance RF products from concept to high-volume production.

Responsibilities

• Lab testing and characterization of highly integrated Wi-Fi front-end modules.
• Contributing to the research and development of advanced analog and RF integrated circuits for wireless (Wi-Fi) technology.
• Assist in new product engineering and design activities.
• Communicate with employees at all levels in the organization and be able to demonstrate excellent problem-solving, data analysis, and critical thinking skills.

Required Experience and Skills

• Currently enrolled in a BS, MS, or Ph.D. academic program (Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Physics, or related).
• Able to work onsite full-time from June 2027 to December 2027.
• Must have ability to complete 6-month Co-Op term prior to graduation
• Knowledge of electronic circuits and principles.
• An interest and aptitude in the art of RF/microwave and analog circuit design and measurement.
• An interest and aptitude in semiconductor device physics and integrated circuit design.
• Proficient in the use of MS Office (Excel and Word) and have an aptitude for quickly learning other company-specific software.
• Self-starter with a strong work ethic and excellent time management skills. Good communication, organization, and documentation skills.

Desired Experience and Skills

• Agilent ADS and/or Cadence Spectre/RF simulation tools
• Cadence Virtuoso IC Layout
• Momentum/Sonnet/HFSS EM simulation tools
• SPICE

The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
