ReThink, a construction tech startup based in Miami, FL, is seeking a Founding Machine Learning Engineer to join our team. Our mission is to reduce the cost of construction projects through innovative technology solutions. We're looking for a talented individual to help us push the boundaries of advanced computing in the construction industry.  

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and optimize systems to store and retrieve construction information in a highly interconnected and efficient manner  
• Enhance embedding techniques to better capture the nuances of construction project data - Implement and fine-tune Large Language Models (LLMs) for various construction-related tasks  
• Collaborate with our engineering team to integrate advanced solutions into our existing tech stack - Optimize data handling processes using graph and relational database technologies  
• Research and implement cutting-edge technologies relevant to the construction industry ## Required Qualifications  
• Strong experience in applying LLMs to diverse problem domains - Deep understanding of vector embeddings, including the impact of dimensionality and tokenization on quality  
• Proficiency in Python programming, especially in machine learning contexts - Experience with graph databases (preferably Neo4j) and relational databases (preferably PostgreSQL)  
• Solid grasp of natural language processing (NLP) techniques and transformer architectures - Ability to design and implement efficient, scalable systems

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with OCR technologies (e.g., Tesseract)  
• Familiarity with model fine-tuning techniques, especially using tools like Axolotl - Knowledge of FastAPI or similar frameworks for creating efficient APIs - Experience with containerization and cloud deployment of machine learning systems - Familiarity with construction industry processes and challenges - Background in computer vision or multimodal systems ## Additional Important Skills - Proficiency in data preprocessing and feature engineering  
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows - Familiarity with MLOps practices and tools for model deployment and monitoring  
• Strong problem  -Solving skills and ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
