    Frontier Technology Inc. (FTI) is seeking an Information Systems Intern to support our software development projects. This position is designed for currently enrolled college students. Our summer internship program offers real work experience at a fast-growing company, exposure to senior leadership, and, potentially, career opportunities at FTI upon graduation!

    Information Systems professionals are an integral part of our organization and we are committed to hiring the right talent to grow and develop within our organization. The Information Systems Intern will work with our development teams to deliver practical and sound technical solutions.

    This is a paid internship, running May – August 2023. All candidates must be able to work on site in Chesapeake, VA.

    Responsibilities Include:

    • Work under the supervision of a Project Manager/Senior Developer according to company policies and project specifications.
    • Analyze and review existing systems and program logic to become familiar with the current product features.
    • Document all work through code comments, programmer's manuals, user guides, and or regular status reports.
    • Assist the Independent Research and Development (IR&D) of the core IT solutions we offer our various Department of Defense (DoD) customers.
    • Engage in the evaluations and demonstrations of our IT solutions.
    • Collaborate with business and technical staff to perform effective root-cause analysis and resolution.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and present work to Senior Management.
  • Qualifications
    • Must be currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master’s degree program in Computer Science (CS), Information Technology (IT), Information Systems (IS), or another related field.
    • Demonstrates enthusiasm for and curiosity about all aspects of CS/IT/IS.
    • Ability to effectively interface with technical and non-technical staff at all organizational levels.
    • Ability to work in a team environment focused on customer support.
    • Ability to adhere to deadlines.
