JOB DESCRIPTION

Our Visa internship program occurs during the summer months only.

Payments are changing with new players, experiences and expectations. Over half of Visa's volume is now digital, and many market trends are affecting how Visa and our clients do business. For that reason, the Product team is focused on a holistic product strategy that allows Visa to ship products faster that are more relevant to the local markets in which Visa does business. The organization is at the forefront of thinking and working differently at Visa, particularly as we transform how we design, build and ship products globally for the future.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to be an entrepreneur or understand how start-ups work from the front line, and is ready to help a start-up grow inside the global Visa organization. You are disciplined, detail-oriented, and creative. You learn fast and are a persuasive, resourceful teammate. You'll have to think on your feet, ask the right questions, and get a lot done quickly.

Specific assignments will depend on upon your skills sets, interest, location and team needs. Job duties and projects could include:

• Blockchain research into Layer 2 solutions for scaling, interoperability and privacy;

• Analyze the latest research publications and whitepapers on central bank digital currencies;

• Be an effective communicator to write blogs and research analysis around technical CBDC and blockchain subjects

• Analyze blockchain data to inform market trends and product strategy

• Influence and provide market feedback and knowledge sharing to cross-functional teams and executive leadership

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Cognitive Science, CS, Human Cognitive Interaction , IS, IT, user Experience, User Interface Design or a related field, graduating December 2022 or later
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 (or equivalent scale)
• Strong communications skills, specifically, the absence of repeated grammatical or typographical errors, clear and concise written and spoken communications, and communications that demonstrate professional judgment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Engineering or related technical field or equivalent experience
• Strong quantitative skill to gather data intelligence and analyze data
• Strong writing and analytical skills to do blockchain and CBDC research, and deliver valuable research reports in an effective manner
• Demonstrate ability to transform high-level abstraction into concrete strategic ideation
• Strong knowledge base of digital currency, blockchains, macroeconomics, and fintech retail solutions. Plus if strong knowledge of blockchain primitives, consensus mechanism and /or central bank digital currencies
• Possess significant functional knowledge of the cryptocurrency ecosystem and players involved.
• Strong problem-solving skills and creativity to identify new opportunities/anticipate how crypto can impact payments ecosystem
• Expertise in explaining complex concepts and technologies to a broad audience of external and internal partners
• Creativity and resourcefulness to overcome unexpected roadblocks
• Demonstrated ability to articulate, drive, and motivate a team towards a strategic vision and roadmap
• Ability to successfully build strong partnerships with cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization
