    • This is a learning-intensive program designed to give you essential business insights and hands-on experience in your field of choice. It's a full-time, 10-week commitment from JUNE 1, 2022 through AUGUST 5, 2022.

    WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT IN THIS ROLE

    As a Spectrum Intern, you'll be essential to two teams - your respective department and your Intern peer group. Department and team-focused projects account for about 80% of your schedule. You'll spend the other 20% on professional development sessions and networking activities, including the Kickoff Conference on June 1, webinars, community service, cross-functional project, and final presentations.

    Internship responsibilities may include:

    • Actively support all efforts to enhance the quality, consistently, and accuracy for all Network Inventory Management systems to correctly represent the Spectrum Enterprise network.

    • Assist in validating network designs adhere to the standards set forth by Spectrum Enterprise.

    • Make corrections and/or updates to designs inside the inventory management system.

    • Work within industry standard Sales, CRM, and engineering tools for legacy documentation.

    • Assist in the development of network automation tools by providing Business Requirements and performing UAT along side development teams.

    • Track, manage, and report out on project status.

    • Work with CLI across multiple platforms such as Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, Rad and Adva.

    • Performs other duties as requested by manager.

    Required qualifications:

    • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited College or University completing a Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Degree

    • Must have at least a 3.0 GPA or greater in current program

    • Ability to travel locally to Spectrum Intern development events and activities throughout the program

    • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship

    Preferred qualifications:

    • Ability to understand complex technical documentation, processes, and problem resolution.

    • Ability to read, write and speak the English language

    • Ability to work in a team environment

    • Deadline-driven with the ability to learn new technologies and work in a fast-paced team environment.

    • Basic data networking knowledge (OSI Model, TCP/IP, Optical Transport)

    • Basic understanding of optical transmission technologies including SONET, DWDM, CWDM, and EPON services.

    • Basic knowledge and skill of creating and manipulating reports within Excel or other similar software

    • Basic knowledge in network design, network architecture, protocols and network topology

    • Basic knowledge in using ticketing and software tools to support the current operations.

    • Basic knowledge of basic network devices and network appliances

    • Basic knowledge of network designing software, such as Visio

    • Basic knowledge of network automation using scripting technologies such as Python.

    • Understanding of the Agile software development lifecycle (SDLC).
