      • Computer Science
    • This is a learning-intensive program designed to give you essential business insights and hands-on experience in your field of choice. It’s a full-time, 10-week commitment from May 29, 2024, through August 2, 2024.

    What you can expect in this role

    As a Spectrum Intern, you’ll be essential to two teams — your respective department and your Intern peer group. Department and team-focused projects account for about 80% of your schedule. You’ll spend the other 20% on professional development sessions and networking activities, including the Kickoff Conference on May 29, webinars, community service, cross-functional project, and final presentations.

    Internship responsibilities may include:

    • Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience
    • Understand and code basic features, functions and definition
    • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following established coding standards under the supervision of senior developers.
    • Implement pre-designed solutions as instructed by team lead following best practices and approved code patterns.
    • Implement basic functionality based on a provided design with team guidance
    • Understand technical requirements and technical design documents
    • Utilize code branching strategies and change control methodologies
    • Code as per the Charter standards and guidelines
    • Assist in fixes to defects raised
    • Complete assigned tasks within a given timeframe
    • Test and validate their own code
    • Submit code for code review and applies feedback
    • Provide LOE on a capability level
    • Collaborate with other teams, within a feature team, and/or a focus group
    • Adhere to legal, regulatory, process, and security requirements of their organization

    Here’s what it takes to get started

    Required qualifications

    • Must be enrolled in an accredited College or University graduating with a bachelor’s degree between December 2024 - May 2025
    • Must have at least a 3.0 GPA or greater in current program
    • Ability to travel locally to Spectrum Intern development events and activities throughout the program
    • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for Charter Sponsorship

    • Ability to work in a team environment

    • Problem solving abilities
    • Proficient in Software including Adobe, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word
    • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
    • Basic knowledge of coding principles
    • Knowledge of one major programming language/tool
    • Knowledge of coding language and syntax, usage of functions and object-oriented patterns
    • Understanding of applicable technical systems and programming in a general sense
    • Ability to follow standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained and work on problems of limited scope
    • Ability to apply company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues
