What you can expect in this role

As a Spectrum Intern, you’ll be essential to two teams — the Spectrum News marketing team and your Intern peer group. Department and team-focused projects account for about 80% of your schedule. You’ll spend the other 20% on professional development sessions and networking activities, including the Kickoff Conference on May 29th, webinars, community service, cross-functional project, and final presentations.

You’ll have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience within the Spectrum News marketing and creative services teams.

Spectrum News is made up of over 30 hyper-local news and regional sports networks that are constantly expanding and dedicated to producing original, unbiased, and high-quality content. We use innovate journalistic approaches, backed by comprehensive research, to engage and inform viewers on the most essential news, issues, and events taking place in their communities.

Internship responsibilities may include

• Conduct market research on industry trends, competitors, and audience behavior.
• Work cross-functionally with Marketing & Creative Services and support the team with ad-hoc linear initiatives and regional marketing efforts.
• Learn the process or launching, maintaining, optimizing, and completing of digital marketing campaigns.
• Actively participate in team meetings and media agency meetings.
• Complete and present an independent internship project.

Here’s what it takes to get started

Required qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited College or University completing a Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Degree
• Must have at least a 3.0 GPA or greater in current program
• Ability to travel locally to Spectrum Intern development events and activities throughout the program
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship
