• You’re a motivated rising senior with a 3.0 GPA or higher seeking a bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas listed below from an accredited college or university:
  • Computer Science
• This is a learning-intensive program designed to give you essential business insights and hands-on experience in your field of choice. It’s a full-time, 10-week commitment from May 29, 2024, through August 2, 2024.

What you can expect in this role

As a Spectrum Intern, you’ll be essential to two teams — your respective department and your Intern peer group. Department and team-focused projects account for about 80% of your schedule. You’ll spend the other 20% on professional development sessions and networking activities, including the Kickoff Conference on May 29, webinars, community service, cross-functional project, and final presentations.

Internship responsibilities may include:

• As a member of the Network Engineering team, the intern will leverage corporate standards to assist in the planning, forecasting, and implementation of Optical transport and Layer 3 network elements.
• Works on projects/systems/issues of varying complexity surrounding network configuration and deployment.
• Proactively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
• Evaluates new products, performs network problem resolution.
• Assists in the development and documentation of technical standards and implements approved methods of procedure.

Required qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited College or University graduating with a bachelor’s degree between December 2024 - May 2025
• Must have at least a 3.0 GPA or greater in current program
• Ability to travel locally to Spectrum Intern development events and activities throughout the program
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for Charter Sponsorship

• Problem solving abilities
• Proficient in Software including Adobe, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word
• Basic knowledge in TCP/IP and the OSI Model
• Basic knowledge of related industry specifications and standards IEEE, ANSI, Physical Media (Multimode Fiber, Single mode Fiber, UTP, etc.), Bridging, Switching, Routing, Ethernet and Transport technologies and protocols
• Basic knowledge in using ticketing and software tools to support the current operations.
• Knowledge of basic network concepts (MAC Address, IP Address, DNS, Network protocols)
• Knowledge of basic Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio)
• Ability to perform duties in a very fast-paced environment and ability to learn new technology quickly.
• Skills required for program:
• Relevant internship is a plus, as is experience in a leadership position at work or within a campus organization.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills
• Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong passion demonstrated via energy levels, enthusiasm, creativity, and commitment.
• Understanding of the telecommunications industry is desired.
• Must practice good judgment, discretion, and confidentiality.
