      • Supply Chain Management
    • This is a learning-intensive program designed to give you essential business insights and hands-on experience in your field of choice. It’s a full-time, 10-week commitment from May 29, 2024 through August 2, 2024.

    • Opportunities to connect you with people who can give you a better understanding of the industry and help you accomplish real goals you can add to your résumé, this includes assigning you a formal mentor and interactions with senior executives.

    What you can expect in this role

    As a Spectrum Intern, you’ll be essential to two teams — your respective department and your Intern peer group. Department and team-focused projects account for about 80% of your schedule. You’ll spend the other 20% on professional development sessions and networking activities, including the Kickoff Conference on May 29th, webinars, community service, cross-functional project, and final presentations.

    Internship responsibilities may include

    Supplier Certification Initiative – A key initiative supporting Charter’s Supplier Diversity program strategy is the Diverse Supplier Certification Initiative, where qualified existing suppliers receive assistance in becoming certified as diverse-owned businesses.

    • a. Complete an assessment of the existing supply base and identify suppliers to target for certification based on potential impact and value-add. Learn the fundamentals of supplier diversity spend reporting, get hands on exposure to the Charter supply base across the full footprint.
    • b. Create a project plan outlining the most optimal approach to target the suppliers for certification to achieve highest value returns. Practice project management skills while developing the most optimal strategy for achieving results for the growth of the program toward company goals.
    • c. Forecast the potential impact to the supplier diversity spend – including potential impact to total spend, diverse category, and classification. Provide an analysis of the spend to be gained from the initiative based on execution of the plan and return on investment of the initiative’s costs vs value add.

    Supplier Data Analysis – Data intelligence is the foundation of the Supplier Diversity program. Analyze and present the data to provide insights used to develop the next phase of the strategy.

    • a. Analyze the national Procurement Spend data and Supplier Diversity spend data. Create views by business unit, sourcing group, category, region, etc. to allow an intelligent look into the current state of spending.
    • b. Create an overlay of data “hot spots” on the Charter regional footprint map. Create an intelligent view of the current state of spend and opportunities to expand using intelligence gained through data analysis.
    • c. Assess and outline the evident opportunities to expand the program, and increase spend by closing any previously unseen gaps in project alignment

    Program Management – Efficient and effective operations are vital to the success of the Supplier Diversity program and as well as any key business function.

    • a. Program Administration – Support the program administration including internal and external communications, supplier registrations and approvals, education, and reporting, etc.
    • b. Event Coordination and Management – Support the coordination, management, and execution of Charter’s presence at key partner events
    • c. Standardization – Support the creation and maintenance of standard operating procedures, checklists, and other key documentation

    Required qualifications

    • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited College or University completing a Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Degree
    • Must have at least a 3.0 GPA or greater in current program
    • Ability to travel locally to Spectrum Intern development events and activities throughout the program
    • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship
