    Radio Frequency Apprenticeship

    We are looking for a passionate person to join our Nevada RF Engineering Team! After successful fulfillment of demonstrated lessons of the 12-month Associate Radio Frequency Engineer Apprenticeship program, recipients will receive a certificate of completion from T-Mobile. Through the course of the apprenticeship, you will complete a series of proven lessons delivered through digital platforms, classroom training, one-on-one training with authorities, mentorship, experiential learning through on-the-job assignments, and completion of a final project.

    Must be a resident of the State of Nevada to be considered for this role - role serves the Reno/Tahoe market

    Description:

    Participates on a team responsible for the Planning and Performance of GSM, UMTS, LTE, and NR networks for T-Mobile US. Provides recommendations to develop guidelines on the design, planning, capacity management, and deployment for the network market. Participates in the development of market standards, documents, processes, and practices.

    Earners of the Apprenticeship certificate have successfully shown talent in the following knowledge and skills:

    • Network site configuration, a familiarity with network hardware, important metrics, ONE score, network optimization, network design, network deployment, perform practical application, multi-functional activities, and provide project support.
    • In addition to RF Engineering, will be an active member on a small team responsible for the creation of new Windows tools to improve efficiency for the RF Engineering Team. This includes Excel/Access Visual Basic (VBA), Ericsson Python API Automation, PowerBI and/or HTML5 Web-Based Charting & GIS visuals/reports, and database administrations (crafting tables procedures).
    • The Radio Frequency Engineer Apprentice Certificate is issued automatically after the successful completion of the apprenticeship.
  • Qualifications

    Position pays $23/hour with the opportunity for a $2/hour increase after seven months (based on performance)

    Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Preferred - 1 year of Community College in an IT or computer subject area or Work Ready Certificate

    Preferred Technical Proficiencies:

    • Database Administration (design, building and maintaining structured databases) Databases Engines (e.g., MS SQL, MySQL, and/or MS Access) SQL coding Programming (visual basic, python, C#, and/or C++) Visualization Tools (e.g., PowerBI, Qlik, and/or Tableau) HTML5 Web Site Design (with JavaScript, CSS, PHP) Performs design of new site additions, sector additions and frequency overlays and prepares new site configuration data using Atoll Performs hourly and daily statistical monitoring and review of radio network key performance indicators (important metric)

    Preferred Soft-Skills:

    • Technical writing and presentation skills. Able to develop and articulate technical strategies. Self-motivated and can meet commitments. Strong problem solving and fixing skills.

  • Benefits

    Regular Full-Time and Part-Time employees are eligible to participate in T-Mobile’s employee benefit programs, which include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance programs, as well as a 401(k) plan. Eligibility for health insurance benefits begins on the first day of the month following 30 days of employment; you must enroll within 31 days of your first day of work. If you choose not to enroll, the next opportunity for enrollment will be during T-Mobile's annual enrollment period or if you have a qualifying event. T-Mobile’s 401(k) plan is administered by Fidelity Investments. You are eligible to participate as of your hire date, and you will become eligible for employer match after completing 1 year of service. If you have previously worked for T-Mobile the waiting period for employer match may be shorter than 1 year. Details will be provided in your 401(k) enrollment kit. You will receive an enrollment kit from Fidelity at your home address within the first few weeks of employment with more information about the plan and how to enroll.
