    INTERNSHIP REQUIREMENTS...

    • Internship will last approximately 10 weeks.
    • Must have at least a 3.0 GPA or greater
    • At time of application, you must be enrolled in an educational institution.

    JOB OVERVIEW...

    The Planning, Pricing and Inventory Intern, part of the Planning, Pricing and Inventory (PPI) team, supports local linear inventory planning and special projects in support of the PPI senior management team. The intern will support the PPI team with data analysis, key performance indicator (KPI) design and implementation, construction of pricing and analytical models, exploration of new potential packaging approaches, and support for PPI's eight workgroups.

    MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES...

    DATA ANALYSIS:

    With guidance from PPI senior management team, critically evaluate linear pricing and inventory data to determine performance levels, identify patterns and trends and develop guidance for markets. Summarize findings for PPI team and participate in performance discussions with Sales, Finance and PPI personnel.

    KPI DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION:

    Work with PPI senior management team to develop, design and implement key performance measures around linear pricing and inventory utilization. Socialize measures with Sales, Finance and PPI personnel and assist Reporting & Analysis workgroup in designing frequency-based reporting for both standalone use and eventual use in Salesforce.com.

    CONSTRUCTION OF PRICING AND ANALYTICAL MODELS:

    Work with Pricing Analytics & Tools workgroup to develop sophisticated quantitative modeling for linear pricing to incorporate not only simple characteristics of demand (viewership) and supply (quantity discounts/available inventory), but also to include aspects of perishable inventory valuation (e.g., time-based changes in valuation based on remaining days to availability position). Contribute thinking to appropriate balance in pricing control among base rate card design, packaging variants, proposal valuation and time-based discounting.

    EXPLORATION OF NEW PACKAGING APPROACHES:

    Work with Inventory Planning workgroup to critically evaluate current linear grid designs and allocation strategies across the full Spectrum Reach footprint. Work with PPI content workgroups, Sales and Marketing leaders to investigate and socialize potential new approaches to inventory packaging to maximize yield.

    WORKGROUP SUPPORT:

    In addition to coordination activities listed above, support PP's 8 workgroups in identifying current Spectrum Reach best practices, developing recommendations for revenue and service improvement, and coordinating change management across the PPI process.
