Our Co-op Program offers students a three (potentially two) different 12-week co-op commitment that rotates them through three different assignments/teams. It is designed to provide you an invaluable work experience through completing challenging projects to help you grow and develop. Throughout the three 12-week programs (typically two summers and ideally one additional semester), you will collaborate with some of the best in the industry, receive on the job training, and participate in professional development workshops, executive speaker series, and other networking and social events!

WHAT TO EXPECT:

As a Mechanical Engineeringco-op, you will be responsible for assisting theFiber Optic Product Engineering team in the generation of new product ideas driven by customer feedback and market trends.

YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT BY:

• Leadingand creating designs of products used in Fiber Optic Networks and generating associated product assembly drawings & documentation for manufacturing.
• Collaboratingwith operations/manufacturing during the design cycle to optimize design for manufacturability and assembly.
• Collaborating with mechanical engineers and other technical disciplines on product improvements and new product solutions.
• Developing product bills of material and help oversee product BOM loading into SAP.
• Work closely with CommScope factory locations and suppliers to introduce new product designs into manufacturing and assist with the development of assembly work instructions.
• Work with our development lab to test and demonstrate product compliance to requirements.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION

• Sophomore or Junior standing in a BS in Engineering from an accredited university
• Proven strong academic performer with a minimum GPA of 3.0
• Ability to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future
• A strong desire to learn and grow by applying your education so far to real world engineering challenges

YOU WILL EXCITE US IF YOU

• Have some experiencein solid modeling software and data management - CREO experience preferred
• Havesome background in FEA analysis. Ansys preferred.
• Possess good hands-on mechanical ability.
• Possessstrong verbal, written, presentation, analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to function independently and within a team environment.
• Strong Computer Skills
