    T-Mobile is interviewing candidates for a paid summer internship position in its Corporate Intellectual Property Department located in Overland Park, Kansas. T-Mobile is looking for an exceptional summer interns interested in intellectual property and wireless technology. You’ll be part of the team that provides guidance to T-Mobile about how to secure, protect and license all forms of intellectual property. This is a unique opportunity to get quality patent prosecution experience.

    Position Duties and Responsibilities

    Directed by IP Counsel:

    • Conduct legal research and writing, preparation of correspondence, and support on a range of legal issues. 

    • Work with internal client to evaluate projects and products for risk impacts. 

    • Work with members of the Legal Affairs team on a variety of research projects, which may include marketing practices, sales contracts, partnership agreements, intellectual property, human resources and litigation.

      

    Functional and Technical Skills

    • Excellent legal research and writing skills. 

    • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.  

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced and innovative work environment. 

    • Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills.  

    • Interest and aptitude for learning about the law and wireless technology.  

    • High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.  

    • Strong working knowledge of PC and Microsoft Office applications.

      

    Experience and Education

    • Interns must be currently in the process of obtaining a JD (first year law student).

    • Knowledge of the wireless industry is a plus.  

    • Must live or have place to stay in Overland Park, KS.

    • Employer does not sponsor work visas for this position. Note that this also applies to individuals who are students in F-1 status who desire sponsorship after they complete their education.

    • This position pays $40/hour.
