Digital Innovation Lab (InLab) is a new team in the Product Design & Innovation of Digital, which is driving a culture of dare to innovate, rapid prototyping and fast experimentation that will unlock creativity and innovation in T-Mobile Digital.

InLab is looking for an Innovation Data Scientist intern, who will be finding trends in data sets and developing next-generation algorithms to make the data useful for projects within our incubator for Digital-first consumer products. You will work with a team of software engineers, data engineers, product managers, in a startup like environment to design, implement, and deploy machine learning models to support consumer digital product innovation use cases.

This is a rare opportunity, moving at the speed of a startup, with the backing and in house data (lots of data) of the Fortune 100 company. You will bridge the art of what’s possible across today’s rapidly evolving contextual digital experience and e-commerce landscape.

SPECIFIC PROJECT(S):

ML/AI modeling to support Contextual In-Store Digital Experience, such as Dynamic Pricing

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Extract, prepare and model large, complex data sets using a combination of skills, including machine learning theory, mathematics, statistics, and programming.

• Perform data mining and statistical analyses on ad hoc business problems.

• Define problems in mathematical terms. For example, “Why is product feature X underperforming?” and “What data on user behavior might help explain it?”

• Communicate important information and insights to business leaders using verbal, written, and data visualization skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Working knowledge of Python and SQL

• Machine Learning: Solid understanding of machine learning concepts and techniques related to supervised and unsupervised learning

This role is not eligible for relocation. Intern must have reliable transportation to work in office.

T-Mobile requires all employees in this position to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, unless precluded from doing so by applicable law. Intern wages range from $20/hour to $40/hour. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on experience/location
