    Credit Risk organization at T-Mobile is not your typical Financial Services Credit Risk team – it is the team that disrupts and innovates in Credit Risk strategies in support of the UNCARRIER mission!!!

    As an Analyst Intern within the Credit Risk Strategy team, you will be required to wear multiple hats. You must have a strong blend of analytical skills, project management, presentation skills, and the ability to develop strong and effective working relationships.

    You will be working independently, and/or as part of a team of analysts, to identify new credit segmentation opportunities using statistical methods leading to improvements to our credit decision process and policies, collections strategies, and fraud strategies. You will be partnering within members of the Credit Risk Management team and other functional teams in T-Mobile for the deployment, analysis and tracking of new credit strategies to handle risk.

    You will manipulate large amounts of data, extract key insights from the data, and then clearly and concisely communicate practical recommendations based upon your insights. In many cases, you will participate in projects at various stages from idea or hypothesis generation to development and/or implementation. You will be encouraged to contribute actively with creative and credit-focused ideas, to demonstrate problem solving skills and ownership proficiency. You will be primary statistics analyst in your projects.

    What you will do

    • Apply statistical segmentation techniques to identify new opportunities
    • Extract, load and transform data from several sources vital for statistical, reporting and ad-hoc analysis
    • Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of credit policies to meet given objectives
    • Develop predictive financial and analytical models using the appropriate statistical methodologies, including trend and regression analysis
    • Participate and perform the analysis of new data and statistical products by external vendors
    • Work with credit bureau and alternative credit data
    • Deliver work output with full awareness and adherence to project timelines

    Qualifications

    • BA/BS in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, or a related degree
    • Intermediate or higher proficiency in SAS or other statistical/analytical programming languages
    • Outstanding digital literacy in Excel, Word, PowerPoint required
    • Communication (spoken and written), organization and presentation skills
    • Awareness of project management methods
    • Curiosity about quantitative analytic modeling experience, credit risk management or comparable process management experience
    • Basic proficiency in SQL, C++, Python, R, or other statistical software packages a plus
    • Graduate degree in a quantitative field a plus

    • At least 18 years of age
    • Legally authorized to work in the United States
    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Must be actively enrolled in a degree program or graduated within the last year
    • Employees of T-Mobile or Metro by T-Mobile are ineligible for internships

    Employer does not sponsor work visas for this position. Note that this also applies to individuals who are students in F-1 status who desire sponsorship after they complete their education.

    Relocation reimbursement may be provided to program participants who reside more than 50 miles from the internship location.

    Intern wages range from $20/hour to $40/hour. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on experience/location.
