    The TechX Internship program is a paid 9-month, part-time learning experience that begins in October for students currently enrolled in a full-time undergraduate degree program, majoring in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Management, IT or another Technology-related field. Work closely with our teams, be paired with a mentor, and participate in projects alongside with some of the best senior technologists in the industry. For our eager explorers, you’ll also have the opportunity to rotate teams giving you exposure to a wide variety of technologies across our organization. We encourage you to be a TechX Intern with our Technology Team!

    The Cybersecurity Engineer Intern will help ensure that our software, systems and infrastructure are crafted and implemented to the highest security standards. They will work with an Information Security Manager to analyze the cybersecurity controls for the containerized/cloud based deployments. The Associate will become familiar with the Center for Internet Security Cyber Security Controls and how to apply to containerized/cloud based deployments. Performs technical security assessments, code reviews and vulnerability testing to highlight risk and re-mediate associated findings while helping T-Mobile teams and partners improve. Works closely with other T-Mobile Engineers and associates to craft and build proactive methods to improve our security posture.

    Working toward a Bachelor’s Degree, in Computer Science, Business Administration, Project Management or combination of equivalent experience and education 

    • Supports cybersecurity review and examination of new technologies, modifications to existing technologies, and systems/application designs. Provides appropriate cybersecurity gap remediation guidance.
    • Maintains documentation on security requirements and recommendations/guidance for cybersecurity issue(s)
    • Develops transparency inside & outside of cybersecurity. Collaborate with groups such as application support, engineering ops, finance, privacy, risk management, and other DSO teams, as appropriate
    • Keeps updated documentation for security policy lifecycle throughout, including cybersecurity intake requests, documentation in support of intake requests, review, approval, implementation, publishing, and communication to requester(s). Communicates accordingly to partners at each of the steps for the cybersecurity request.
    • May participate in security, compliance, and risk assessments on projects throughout project lifecycle
    • Supports peers with security projects driven by groups both internal and external to info security
    • Also, responsible for other Duties/Projects as assigned by management as needed.
    • Ability to produce high quality detailed documentation and process flow diagrams
    • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with technical and non-technical staff
    • Basic understanding of cyber security fundamentals (e.g., common attack techniques, vulnerability types, OWASP Top 10…etc.)
    • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio)
    • Scripting or programming skills using Python, Perl, or similar
